The Weekend

August 4, 2008

I had a pretty good week last week. Nothing too crazy happened during the week and it was pretty relaxed. I’m still pretty busy at work and it’s probably going to be a very busy month, but at least time will go by faster.

Thursday night I helped my friend Matthew move, with was interesting. He couldn’t find a truck to rent, so we had to do it all in his car and mine. Which meant I had to put his bed on top of my little Montero Sport. It was a little nerve racking driving down the highway at 50mph with a bed strapped to the roof. I was not thrilled about driving on the highway, but we didn’t exactly spend a lot of time planning.

On the second trip I had to put what Matthew called a dresser, and what normal people would call a HUGE SHELVING SYSTEM, on top of my Montero. That was terrifying. Thank GOD I’m super handy with the bungy straps. On this trip we went down back roads and no more than 30mph. I was so scared that if we went down the highway and that thing fell off the roof it would splatter and cars would be swerving and wrecking into each other and it would cause a pile up and it would be all my fault! At least on the back roads if it fell off there probably wouldn’t be anyone right behind me and if so at least it would be only one car wrecked. Amazingly we finished everything in two trip and nothing got broken or damaged… that I know of!

Friday night I went home and was going to take an hour nap with Paco, but it ended up being 3.5 hours. Then we woke up, watched a movie and ate pizza for about 2 hours, then went right back to bed and I didn’t wake up again until 8:30 Saturday morning. It was SO NICE!

Saturday morning I did invoices for the cleaning company, wrote paychecks, and balanced the company checkbook and my own. After that I went to pick up Matthew at Starbucks and we headed off to Target. I had to get some things for the office. Robert G ended up meeting up with us there and convinced us to go to the mall. We shopped around in the mall for a bit then all split up.

Saturday evening I went to dinner with Paco at Hyde Park Bar and Grill. He had salmon and then told me that I cook a better salmon then they do, which was very sweet and probably a lie… even though I do make some darn good salmon.

Saturday night I met the boys out for dancing at Rainbow. I danced my butt, and the skin on my right ankle, off! I had a great time, I just wish that there had been more guys out that like to dance. All the boys were getting tired and I couldn’t find people to lead. I still managed to dance to almost every song though, so I guess I didn’t do too bad. If I had that kind of interest and stamina in working out at the gym, I’d be so ripped. Actually if I could dance like that every night, I’d be in fantastic shape.

When I came off the dance floor (when the DJ played a bad song) this guy came up to me with a bottle of water he had bought for me and said, “Wow, you’ve really been tearing it up out there all night. I’ve been watching you and my goal is to someday be good enough to ask you to dance.” That was the sweetest thing anyone has said to me in a long while.

Sunday I didn’t do anything all day. I watched movie and sat on the couch all day. Robert G invited me to dinner at around 6ish. Paco was in San Antonio with his mother, so I agreed to meet Robert out. We went to Sago over at the Triangle apartments. It was ok food. Not really my favorite, but I wouldn’t refuse to eat there… but I probably wouldn’t ever suggest going there again either.

Well, my lunch is just about over, so I need to get back to work!
