Short Week

July 27, 2008

This past week was a short one. I was out Monday because I was exhausted from my Dallas trip. When I got to work on Tuesday my boss offered to give me Friday off as well… and I accepted.

So Friday Paco didn’t work either and we spent the day hanging out. We went to lunch, did some shopping (him not me) and then went to see The Dark Night. I thought it was ok, but a little too long and really too violent for a movie that I feel is going to be watched by a lot of young people.

We stayed in for the night and watched a movie, Penelope, which was cute. Reese Witherspoon was really fun in the movie. Christina Ricci even looked cute at times, and her huge forehead wasn’t all that bad or obvious.

Saturday I didn’t do much at all during the day. I watched TV, napped, and watched a movie called Marcelino Pan y Vino, which was VERY CATHOLIC but pretty good. The entire movie was leading up to a miracle that happens to a little boy named Marcelino. There didn’t seem to be any moral or point to the movie other than to make people believe in God and miracles… not that it’s a bad thing.

I met up with Robert at 4:45 at Hula Hut for his company party. We had some drinks and hung out with his coworkers and their “plus 1′s.” After hanging out there for a while we went on a party boat where there was more food and an open bar. The boat went down the river for a while and then went down a little side stream to park so that everyone could swim.

I had the best time. Robert and I didn’t swim, but we stayed up on the top of the boat and watched everyone and drank. I also made a fabulous new friend, Jamie! She has the best eyelashes and she’s super fun. Robert and I are totally fighting over who’s going to be her new BFF. Of course the entire boat was straight except Robert and I.

After all the swimming and the boat docked back at Oyster Landing, we went to Rainbow. I was wearing shorts and flip flops, but that didn’t stop me from dancing. I actually really didn’t notice much of a difference dancing in flip flops as opposed to boots. Of course today the bridge of my right foot really hurts, probably from the lack of support all day yesterday.

Today I got up late and haven’t done much other than watch TV and lounge. I’m tired and REALLY hungry even thought it feels like I’ve been eating all day.
