No RAIN?

July 10, 2007

I think yesterday was the first day in about a month and a half that I have not seen rain. I’m sure it rained somewhere in Austin, but it never rained where I was! I’m shocked too, because I wore suede shoes yesterday and usually that ALWAYS causes rain.

I have been busy a lot lately, and busy being lazy. I have no idea what I have been doing, but time sure has been flying by.

Last night I cleaned up my bedroom and threw away a ton of stuff. I cleaned out my little file cabinet and a bunch of other drawers. I had stuff in my file cabinet from more than ten years ago that I’ve never looked at.

I probably threw away some stuff that I should have kept, but oh well. I figured that if I hadn’t needed in the past 5 years, I’ll probably never need it… and right now I need the extra space more than I need useless documents.

The cleaning business has been going well, especially for Paco’s mom. I’ve been keeping her pretty busy and I’ve been doing some jobs myself here and there with her, M.Lo and Lisa. Cleaning vacant homes is a million times better than cleaning occupied ones.

You’d think it would be much easier to clean vacant ones, but not really. When they are occupied, the furniture takes up a lot of space and blocks you from getting to things. When they are empty you have nothing but tons of open space that needs to be cleaned, baseboards that need to be wiped, and if you skip anything… it’s very obvious.

But the good thing about the empty houses is that you can take your time, you can take breaks, and if you need to run to get some tacos, you can. You can also chit chat about whatever you want with your friends while you clean.

I don’t want it to become a big business thing though. I really just want enough business so that Paco’s mom can quit McDonalds, and so that Paco and I can pick up a little extra cash whenever we want.

The office job (daytime job) is going really well too. It’s SO MUCH BETTER than being at 3M.
