Shut In

June 26, 2006

This weekend I took a break from my normal social life. I turned off my cell phone for most of the weekend. I’ve been seeing Francisco now for a few days short of a month and every weekend I have had to drag him to some party with me. This weekend was only about spending time with him alone. Friday night we hung out and watched a movie.

I had a hard time trying to find one that had Spanish subtitles for him. Most of the movies I have only had French and English. Who knew French was so popular. Bring it On, 13 Going on 30, and Sweetest Thing were some of the movies that had French subtitles. I don’t understand that. I couldn’t find one with Spanish, so we gave up and watched 13 Going on 30 with the English captions on.

Saturday morning I went shopping with my brother and my mother. We went downtown to find my brother a Munny. We went to three different stores, all of them had it, but they had other stuff for him to look at as well. My mom ended up buying one for herself as well.

We went to Urban Outfitters and I found an awesome Diesel t-shirt on sale for $9.99, down from $50! I was super excited. I found it on the clearance rack and I thought maybe it was a mistake because it was the only one on the rack, and it didn’t have a $9.99 sticker on it. I looked around the store to see if there were more anywhere else, but there wasn’t. I went to ask the sales guy about it and he got out his pricing gun and put a $9.99 sticker on it! SO EXCITED!

After the shopping was over, I went home and took a nap. I had a date planned with Francisco for dinner, so after my nap I picked out some clothes, showered, got beautiful, and waited for him to come over. I studied my Spanish books for a little while too and learned how to tell him about my day in Spanish. He was VERY proud of me for that.

He took me to Fonda San Miguel’s for dinner. It’s his favorites restaurant in Austin. He says he loves the food and it reminds him of being in Mexico. The dinner was delicious and the drinks as well. I had one Silverio Margarita, which was actually a Watermelon Margarita. I love watermelon juice!

Sunday Francisco and I went on a hike for lunch. We climbed up the hill by the 360 bridge and had a BBQ picnic lunch up there. Man, it was CRAZY hot. There was a lot of shade up there, so at least we had that working for us. I took a few pics up there, but I didn’t upload them yet. They will be posted later.

After the hike, we went shopping for him to buy himself a iPod Nano. He doesn’t have his computer here yet (it’s in Mexico) so he’s borrowing all of the music on mine right now. It took me hours to get my laptop all set up right with a login for him and get my library set up for him to share. It’s all working now and he was so excited about having music and be able to use his iPod at the gym. He brought some of his CDs over so I could copy them on my computer, for us both to load on our iPods, which made me extra happy. I love new music!

After shopping for the iPod, we stopped by my sister’s house for a little while to watch her recorded episodes of So You Think You Can Dance, only her machine erased the good episode. Oh well… pity.

That was my weekend. I didn’t go to Rainbow and I didn’t hang out with any of my friends. It was nice for one weekend, but I couldn’t do it too often. I would miss my friends and I would miss dancing.
