I hate ABC
I had a busy weekend. Thinking back on it now it feels like it was so long ago. I can barely remember all of it, but it’s slowly coming back to me. Friday night I went home and worked out while watching movies. I watched Blood Hounds of Broadway and Dear Wendy. Blood Hounds of Broadway was ok, if not a bit weird. It was odd seeing so many famous faces in this movie, especially Jennifer Grey. I liked Madonna in this film, and it was kind of funny how much her character was like that of the character in her very next film, Dick Tracy .
Dear Wendy was very odd and not at all what I was expecting. It was a good movie, and had and interesting view, but it ended so oddly. Jamie Bell was great in it, and he looks all grown up. He’s actually kind of cute.
I worked out a lot, basically for three hours. I was super proud of myself. It really didn’t seem like much because I was watching the movies while doing it. If I could do that at the gym, I definitely wouldn’t mind being there as much. Of course the main downside about going to the gym is actually having to leave my apartment. Working out at home and watching movies makes me feel super productive because I get to do something I enjoy while doing something to make myself better.
I went out to Rainbow as well. I wanted to meet up with someone (M) else that was going out. I didn’t dress for dancing, I just planned on hanging out and chatting with people… actually being sociable for once. (M) was out, but mostly busy with a prior social engagement, a going away party. We did get to dance together a bunch and chat some. I spent a lot of time in the DJ booth hanging out with TJ.
Saturday I was supposed to go shopping with my sister, but she didn’t feel well so she canceled. I started watching Europa Europa. That movie was so good. I had forgotten that it was based on an auto biography. I didn’t remember until after I had watched it, which is good because it was sad enough watching it when I thought it was fiction. I really want to read the biography now. Well, part of me wants to read it, the other part thinks it would be super depressed and hard to get through. I don’t like depressing myself.
M.Lo called during my movie and demanded that I go shopping with her. It wasn’t hard to convince me. She came over and went to have some drinks and appetizers at Doc’s on S Congress, and then walked up and down SoCo shopping for whatever. It was crazy hot outside and we were going in stores just to get the free a/c. I think it’s going to be a miserably hot summer.
I wasn’t really looking for anything, but she was. She was out to buy whatever she could find, and looking for a cute shirt. We also went to Emeralds and down to the drag for a bit. I found the cutest present for Citlali’s birthday! I got her a neon hello kitty sign for her bedroom. Gina is decorating her new room in Hello Kitty, so it will be perfect! And the best part is that I wasn’t even really shopping for her and was able to get it done. It usually takes me a long time to figure out what to get her.
M.Lo and I were being our normal silly and obnoxious selves all day. She had me taking pics of her all up and down congress. I didn’t post the ones she took of herself in the vanity mirror in my truck.
After the shopping I wanted to take a nap, but didn’t have time. I had a “dinner engagement” with (M). I’m going to skip over all of that because I don’t want to share those details with everyone. In short, we went to dinner, walked around the capital together, went to Rainbow for a bit, then to a party. I dropped him back off at his place at around 1ish.
Sunday I got up late, went to get some groceries and realized that all of the HEBs were closed. Damn bible belt! So I had to go further into civilization to the Randalls. I actually quite enjoyed my little excursion. I picked up a frappucino and a snack at Starbucks and got all of my shopping completed. It was nice to be out in the sun and running around.
I spent the rest of the evening doing pretty much nothing. At about 4 I started working on dinner. M.Lo, Javi, and Ryan were supposed to come over. Ryan wasn’t talking to me, on account of something that happened Saturday night. M.Lo was sick and couldn’t get out of bed, so she canceled as well. I made a chocolate and cherry flavored Creme Brulée. I also baked a honey ham, made mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls. It was all super yummy.
Again, ABC is screwing with it’s public. They didn’t air Grey’s Anatomy again last night. What is with this station? They are really banking on the assumption that we are so hooked on these shows that we’ll continue to put up with all this nonsense… sadly they are correct. I hate them!
I have a meeting to attend in 9 minutes, so I must sign off.
