All day shopping, and the mission!

March 27, 2004

Today was my day to go shopping with Kristi. It started off as just a quick little jaunt to the Arboretum to return a few things, and have lunch, but it soon became an ALL DAY MISSION. We started off with lunch at Cozy Mel’s. Nothing too exciting to report about that, except the girl sitting next to us with the thong wedged up her butt, in her low rise jeans, showing us half of her butt as she sat down. Wrongness. Women need to be more conscious when wearing the thong and the lowrise.

After lunch we went over to Starbucks, then to Ann Taylor, then to Saks. Kristi exchanged some things at Ann Taylor, then we headed back over to the other side of the Arbor to hit Gap, St Thomas, Pottery Barn, Express, some weird store, Nine West, and Restoration Hardware. Kristi exchanged some things at Gap and then we headed over to Cavenders to look at western wear for this Cowboy themed party we’re going to on the 3rd.

We both found some things we liked, but I was thinking we would have a better selection at Sheplers, so off we went. On the way there, we went totally out of our way and stopped by Kristi’s apartment so that she could pick up something else she needed to exchange.

I was having the worst time driving. I totally wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and kept missing exits and going wrong directions. We finally got to Sheplers and ended up not finding anything we liked. We decided to go back to Cavenders, but not until after we hit Legs Diamond and Urban Outfitters.

So we headed downtown to the Drag. Kristi saw a cute buckle she wanted at Legs Diamond, but we decided to wait until we shopped the rest of the drag and get it on the way back. My cute little sales boy wasn’t working, so I was NONE to pleased!

We ended up shopping the entire drag. We went to Legs Diamond, Urban Outfitters, Tower Records, some vintage store, The Cadeau, The Coop, By George, Blue Velvet, Diesel, and Vertigo. We found these cute t-shirts at Urban Outfitters that I think we’re going to go back and purchase this Thursday. We found them first in the girl’s section and I didn’t think they would have them in boys, so I tried it on. It was kinda small and it got stuck on me. Kristi had to fight with it to get it off of me, all right there in front of everyone in the store. Good times!

We ended up finding the t-shirt in the boys section as well, so now we’re both going to get them and wear matching t-shirts to the party. We’re going to be so cute, people will seriously hate us. I don’t mind though… it’s the price you pay for being irresistible.

I found this awesome lamp that I wanted to get, but Kristi was being all the dream squasher and convinced me that it wouldn’t work in my apartment. I may have to go back and get it and prove her wrong. It’s an awesome white 60′s inspired lamp/chandelier kind of thing.

I found this awesome baby blue hat at the vintage store that matches my baby blue suede shoes, and I had to have it. I just couldn’t pass it up at the tiny price of $9.99! I can’t wait to wear it with my shoes! I’m so wearing that to bowling on Tuesday!

So after the drag, we went back to Cavenders and Kristi got these awesome boots on sale from $130 to $28.99. What a deal! She bought a really cute shirt too, it reminds me of the shirt Madonna wore in the Don’t Tell Me video. Now we just need to find her a hat, and a belt for her new buckle.

Oh, I also need to go back to Vertigo to possibly buy a new hat, but also to drop off my black hat to get it re-painted, re-sealed, and get the dent steamed out. I want to have a hat custom made and painted for me, but I haven’t decided how I’d want it done yet, or what I’d want on it.

After Cavenders, we went to Noe’s apartment and then to Tony Roma’s for dinner. We had the worst waiter ever. He really thought he was funny, but he definitely was not. Our food also took forever, despite the many times waiter came to our table to tell us it would be out in five minutes. It actually ended up taking 1 hour and 10 minutes. There were tables all around us that had been seated after us that he their food faster than us, and all we ordered were sandwiches. Wrongness! He didn’t know who he was messing with. Kristi is good friends with the owner and she sure did make a list of her complaints so that she could call him later and tell him all about it. As Donald Trump would say, “You’re fired!”

By the time we finished eating, went to rent movies, and got home, we had been out shopping for almost 12 hours. That’s insanity!!!! My feet actually weren’t hurting as much as they should have been, considering I was wearing flip-flops. I had no idea we were going to do that much shopping, and I also didn’t have any idea we were going to have so much fun.

I’m going to do some reading now, and the go to bed.
